About Studio Subryan
Interior styling and design-led storytelling.

A practice in atmosphere, composition, and care.

Studio Subryan is the creative practice of interior stylist, writer, and consultant Merie Subryan, dedicated to crafting spaces with presence and personality. The work balances clarity with character, creating interiors that feel considered, layered, and quietly alive.

I bring a narrative lens to interiors, styling spaces and objects with the quiet tension of lived beauty and editorial clarity.

Merie’s affinity for interiors began in childhood, trailing her father, an engineer, through New York City’s construction sites. Those visits offered an early glimpse into the systems and structures that bring buildings to life. Summers spent in Europe later expanded that lens, with encounters like Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel deepening her sensitivity to scale, nuance, and atmosphere.

This ethos guides her practice. Each project is approached as a personal atelier, where light, materiality, and space are orchestrated into narratives that honor both place and the enduring meaning of objects beyond their material value. With a meticulous, unconventional eye, Merie creates interiors that invite discovery, imbued with character, playfulness, and artful restraint.

Educated in Interior Design at Parsons, The New School, and holding dual degrees in Psychology and Sociology, Merie brings both aesthetic and behavioral insight to her work. Her home and design projects have been featured in Dwell, with additional contributions and expertise highlighted in The Strategist and other publications.

She publishes Section Plane, an independent writing project exploring the emotional and material logic of interiors, fashion, and everyday living.

Studio Subryan continues to evolve as a space for thoughtful interiors and design-led storytelling, guided by atmosphere, narrative, and the belief that beauty lives in both the seen and the felt.
